We have written numerous books and articles on most of the key elements of litigation and have taught thousands of lawyers the strategies of successful litigation in CLEs across the country. We have also developed innovative conflict resolution tools and programs for corporate clients to reduce their overall litigation expenses.

Richard Gabriel

President

Richard Gabriel is one of the preeminent trial consultants in the country. Since 1985, Mr. Gabriel has been a leader in the field of jury research, jury selection and litigation communication with experience in nearly 2,000 trials in both the civil and criminal arenas across the country. CBS News has said that Mr. Gabriel is “by reputation, one of the best trial consultants in the country.”

Jonathan Ross

Senior Trial Consultant

Jonathan Ross earned his degree in Psychology from Pomona College in Claremont focusing on Social Psychology and Research Methods and Design. Jonathan has worked on trials including those of Phillip Spector, Casey Anthony, Kwame Kilpatrick, and Azamat Tazhayakov, and has also worked on many multi-million dollar civil matters.

Emily Shaw, Ph.D.

Senior Trial Consultant

Emily Shaw earned her Ph.D. in Psychological Science – specializing in jury decision-making – from the University of California, Irvine. Her jury research has been published in top journals and she has presented her work at conferences across the country.

Michelle Rey LaRocca, J.D.

Senior Trial Consultant

Michelle leverages her seven years as a practicing attorney, communication background, and teaching experience in her litigation consulting practice. Michelle also serves as the current Vice President of the American Society of Trial Consultants.

Gabriela Cedré, M.S.

Director of Operations

With a Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology from Cal State, Los Angeles, Gabriela brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role with Decision Analysis. As Director of Operations, Gabriela ensures efficient case management and handles all logistical needs promptly for optimal client satisfaction.

Michelle Ward, Ph.D.

Senior Trial Consultant

Michelle Ward received her Ph.D. in Clinical Neuroscience (Psychology) from the University of Southern California. Since 2005, Dr. Ward has specialized in criminal matters, complex intellectual property, product liability, antitrust, environmental, and commercial litigation.

Paul Lisnek, J.D., Ph.D.

Of Counsel

Paul has worked as a trial consultant since 1990 and served on the ASTC Board for many years as well as serving as the Society’s President for two terms. Among his credits during his terms were the creation of the first Trial Consultant’s Code of Ethics and the First set of Bylaws for the ASTC.
